Online Safety

Our pupils are growing up in a world of ever-changing technology. While we feel that the use of technology is largely a positive aspect of modern life to embrace, we cannot ignore the risks that can be associated.

Throughout our school, we teach our children how to stay safe online. This is embedded in our PSHE curriculum, whilst participation annually in Safer Internet Day and ‘Crucial Crew’ in Year 6 strengthens children’s knowledge to be responsible and safe internet users.

We follow SMART rules, which are:

In school, we have a filter set up which is reviewed annually to ensure pupils and staff are safeguarded from potentially harmful and inappropriate online material (see e-Safety policy). 

We understand that much of our pupil’s use of the internet will occur at home, away from the school filters.
